Strengthening Public Employment Services in LAC
The IDB's SEALC Network is the Technical Support Network for Public Employment Services in Latin America and the Caribbean. Since 2009, the Network has worked to strengthen public employment services in the region.
The labor market is constantly evolving, with digital transformation, labor migration, population aging, and green jobs reshaping the workforce. In response, the SEALC Network continues to broaden its focus, equipping public employment services in the region with tools to enhance career paths and connect businesses with the necessary talent. As of 2023, the SEALC Network has launched a new phase aimed at increasing its impact through the integration of approaches in labor migration, green jobs, and digital transformation.

Since 2009, the IDB's SEALC Network has supported the strengthening of public employment services in Latin America and the Caribbean.
We lead and fund regional initiatives aiming to improve Public Employment Service through workshops, training, technical exchanges and knowledge generation.
The webinars of the SEALC Network are meant to connect the public employment services in LAC with experts, tools, and best practices from around the world.
We provide support throughout the implementation of our toolkits and technical assistance in Latin America and the Caribbean. In collaboration with our associated subject matter experts on public employment services, we address a wide range of topics, from strengthening institutional capacity to strategies and policy design. The Network is committed to providing technical knowledge to all our institution members.

As a member of the SEALC Network, you gain access to personalized technical assistance from our network of experts, tailored to address specific issues in the field of public employment services. This benefit is available only to SEALC Network members.

This service evaluates the performance of Public Employment Services in key dimensions and designs a tailored roadmap for improvement based on evidence and best practices. Implemented in Belize, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama and Peru, the initiative is conducted through a one-week in-person engagement per country. Deliverables include a customized improvement roadmap, a detailed report with findings and recommendations, and a presentation of results to stakeholders.

This workshop aims to showcase how digital transformation and new technologies can contribute to strengthening the Public Employment Services in a context of accelerated changes in labor markets and complex economic recovery processes.
