IDB's Technical Support Network for Employment Services in Latin America and the Caribbean

Desde 2009, a principal missão da Rede de Apoio Técnico ao Serviço de Emprego na América Latina e no Caribe (Rede SELAC) do BID tem sido sua contribuição para o fortalecimento dos serviços públicos de emprego na região. 

Na vanguarda do conhecimento global no campo dos serviços públicos de emprego, a Rede SEALC lidera e financia iniciativas destinadas a melhorar essas instituições na região. Assim, numerosos serviços de emprego na América Latina e no Caribe puderam se beneficiar da cooperação internacional por meio de workshops, treinamentos e intercâmbios técnicos organizados pela Rede. 

Em 2019, a Rede SEALC tornou-se um Bem Público Regional do BID. Sob essa nova designação, o compromisso da Rede em servir a região foi fortalecido, e os países membros podem se envolver mais ativamente por meio de um Comitê Diretor. 

O mercado de trabalho vive constantes mudanças. A revolução digital, a migração internacional de mão de obra, o envelhecimento, a inclusão e os empregos verdes são algumas das tendências que estão mudando o mundo do trabalho como o conhecemos hoje. Neste contexto, a Rede SEALC continua a trabalhar, alargando a sua perspetiva e âmbito para garantir que os serviços públicos de emprego da região possam contar com as ferramentas para potenciar as trajetórias dos trabalhadores e ligar as empresas ao talento necessário para melhorar a produtividade e a competitividade. 

Em 2021, relançamos o Red SEALC para ampliar seu escopo para áreas como migração de mão de obra, empregos verdes, crescimento da economia digital e transformação digital dos serviços de emprego. Ter serviços de emprego do século 21 na América Latina e no Caribe é fundamental para a recuperação dos mercados de trabalho em nossa região e uma prioridade para o BID sob sua Visão 2025.

What We Do

Since 2009, the IDB's SEALC Network has supported the strengthening of public employment services in Latin America and the Caribbean. 

We lead and fund regional initiatives aiming to improve Public Employment Service through workshops, training, technical exchanges and knowledge generation.

The webinars of the SEALC Network are meant to connect the public employment services in LAC with experts, tools, and best practices from around the world.

As a member of the SEALC Network, you gain access to personalized technical assistance from our network of experts, tailored to address specific issues in the field of public employment services. This benefit is available only to SEALC Network members.

Diagnostic Toolkit for Public Employment Services

This service evaluates the performance of Public Employment Services in key dimensions and designs a tailored roadmap for improvement based on evidence and best practices. Implemented in Belize, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama and Peru, the initiative is conducted through a one-week in-person engagement per country. Deliverables include a customized improvement roadmap, a detailed report with findings and recommendations, and a presentation of results to stakeholders.

Digital Transformation Workshop

This workshop aims to showcase how digital transformation and new technologies can contribute to strengthening the Public Employment Services in a context of accelerated changes in labor markets and complex economic recovery processes.
