What is the IDB Strategic Seed Program for the Amazon?
The Program serve as a cornerstone that incentivizes investments in the sustainable development of the region within the conceptual framework of Amazonia Forever. It fosters the development and implementation of sustainable and inclusive development models in Amazonia, as well as facilitate the governance, alliances and collaboration within the region that are required in this endeavor. As such, it enables the IDB to assist, through non-reimbursable technical cooperation operations, Amazonian countries in achieving substantial progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Amazonia.
The US$20 million Program foster inclusive development models in the multi-sector, multi-national context of unique socio-environmental complexity and diversity that is the Amazonia region.
