General Manager of the Andean Country Group and Country Representative in Venezuela

 

Miguel Coronado, a Colombian citizen, is the General Manager of the Andean Group Country Department at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).  He is also the IDB Country Representative for Venezuela since November 2021. In addition, Mr. Coronado was the IDB Representative in the Dominican Republic (2018 - 2021), managing the Bank’s sovereign and non-sovereign portfolio, technical assistance program, and acknowledged initiatives.

Furthermore, he served as Chief of Operations for the IDB Office in Mexico for eight years (2010 -2018), defining and delivering the Bank’s country program, monitoring the implementation and management of the IDB portfolio, and providing guidance on the preparation, analysis, and negotiation of new projects. During 1991 and 2010, he worked as a Project Attorney in the IDB´s Legal Department.

Mr. Coronado holds a JD from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia and an LLM focused on International and Comparative Law from George Washington University.
