Analysis and Training for Strengthening Negotiating Capacity
The general objective of the project is to strengthen the institutional and technical capacity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the provision of negociating tools and assistance for the development, presentation and dissemination of information on the FTAA process.
The specific objectives of the project are:
-Conduct studies on key trade issues with a view to strengthening Uruguay's participation in the final stage of the FTAA negociations;
-Conduct training, workshops designed to improve the capacity of negociators to articulate sound and technically rigorous negotiating positions;
-Design, construct and launch a Foreign Affairs Ministry webpage for the purpose of better communicating with civil society on issues surrounding trade and globalization; and
-Improve the information technology capabilities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the purpose of better participating in trade negotiations.
