Development of Reverted Areas
This program will support Panama's efforts to attract private investments in the Region Interoceanica, which encompasses the Canal Zone. With these resources, a fund will be established whose administration will be in charge of the Autoridad of the Region Interoceanica. The fund will also be used to finance legal services and other specialized services in order to advise the Autoridad about the preparation of documents containing the latest advancements in concessions and transactions to conclude the privatization of properties whose transfer to Panama is foreseen for 1996 and 1997. Some of the properties include the Espinar Base, Telfers Island, Hospital Gorgas, and Port Amador.
