ZN Mexico Venture Trust is a new MIF promoted investment fund that will invest capital of between US$ 20 - 30 million in Mexican small business over a period of eight years. This project will complement MIF's other investments in Mexico in that it will pursue different objectives, investment sizes and market niches from previous MIF investments in Mexico. The Fund will support the financial and managerial reorganization and strengthening of Mexican small enterprises by providing the risk capital and strategic and financial expertise required to strength investee companies. The Fund will invest in 20-30 small Mexican'companies (less than $5 million in sales and less than 100 employees) that have strong growth potential but are in need of financial or corporate restructuring, risk or expansion capital, better defined business strategy and corporate governance. Its investments are expected to range from US$ 500,000 to US$ 1,500,000. As the Mexican economy continues to recover and gain momentum, the need for such services among small enterprises will grow. These factors will be even more crucial to those small enterprises at their early stages that are striving to develop new business models. The Fund will also contribute to energizing and expanding the Mexican "New Economy" by funding and nurturing start-ups.
