Digital transformation of pension institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean
The objective of the RPG is to develop a conceptual and methodological framework that allows pension institutions in the region to implement a digital transformation plan based on regional standards in three areas: (i) innovation, systematization, interoperability and adoption of new technologies ; (ii) digitization of services, online procedures, and virtual care protocols; and (iii) information security management, including the optimization and expansion of protection and cybersecurity instruments. It should be noted that the digital transformation approach will be comprehensive, considering the relevance of the ability to adapt the mission and business culture of institutions to new technologies; and the orientation that said transformation must have towards the citizen, that is, citizen-centric. The project is aligned with the IDB's Vision 2025 (GN3025-5) by favoring the digital economy, enhancing governance and digital institutions, the regulatory framework, digital talent, and connectivity, all within a regional framework. In addition, it supports good governance and the strengthening of institutions, promoting fiscal sustainability, transparency and integrity.
