RG-T3766 : Educational Inclusion in Mesoamerica in the Current Context of COVID-19

The objective of this RPG is to develop a prototype system for the protection of the educational trajectories of the most vulnerable populations in Mesoamerica, adapted to the new challenges derived from COVID-19 and that can be replicated in the participating countries. The prototype will have two complementary elements: (i) the prevention of dropping out of school by monitoring predictors of school dropout and the implementation of immediate support measures for secondary school; and (ii) the generation of a flexible and/or accelerated secondary education service that is adapted to the realities, schedules and individual situations of young people who abandoned the regular educational system. The COVID-19 has shown that the flexibility of the interventions must combine not only digital and distance learning elements, but also the use of offline applications, radio or television, which allow providing a quality educational service for the culmination of the trajectory for students in secondary school.
