Implementation of the 2011-2012 business plan of WOP-LAC

The objective of this KCP is to enable the 2011-2012 business plans to be implemented successfully in collaboration with IDB's international partners for WOP-LAC (UN-HABITAT and International Water Association). The specific objective of this KCP is to increase knowledge among water utilities by fostering the exchange of information and experience among them and by conducting training workshops on specific topics requested by the water utilities themselves. This KCP will include a mix of twinning arrangements as in previous years and training workshops which will be documented and disseminated. This KCP is relevant in that it will ensure the continuity of an activity that the Bank has been conducting successfully since JUne 2008. WOP-LAC is recognized in the region among water utilities and WOP-LAC platforms were established at the country level in Brazil (through AESB, ABCON and Assemae), Colombia (through ACODAL and ANDESCO) and Mexico (through ANEAS) for which the national water associations are taking the lead to develop WOP-LAC activities among water utilities in their country.
