RG-T1910 : Regional Institutional Capacity Building in Climate Change

The objective of this KCP is to rapidly advance in the strengthening of institutional capabilities of the Region and particularly its strategic actors to mitigate and adapt to climate change. In order to achieve this, action in three will be taken: i) to thoroughly disseminate basic and updated information on climate change; ii) to proactively and effectively disseminate key knowledge products of the Bank and other specialized agencies, directed towards strategic public policy actors. The aforementioned products include but are not limited to: technical notes, case studies, discussion papers, policy briefs, notes on lessons learned; iii) to promote knowledge and learning activities such as: courses, workshops and exchange of experiences that will promote learning an exchange among people responsible for planning and performing policies. This KCP will elaborate on climate change issues that relate to adaptation and mitigation, and will be executed in coordination with key partners within the Bank that include ECC, WSA, TSP, ENE, RND and VPP. The implementation will be coordinated by the abovementioned units and ECC as the technical leader. In this sense, this KCP complements and strengthens accumulated knowledge by these Units as well as the goals and results stipulated in previous KCPs and technical cooperation activities.
