Assessment of Youth Entrepreneurship in Latin America and the Caribbean
The general objective of this project is to contribute to the growth and development of youth entrepreneurship in Latin America and the Caribbean by raising awareness of the positive impact it has on economic and social development, and helping to foster support for the creation of policies and programs. Specifically the project will: (i) conduct research to increase knowledge of the current status of youth entrepreneurship in the region, focusing especially on governments, multilateral organizations, businesses, and members of civil society that are promoting the development of this area; (ii) sponsor an electronic showcase where youth entrepreneurs can present their businesses, projects and best practices, which will be used to select leading youth entrepreneurs to participate in the Bank's annual meeting in Peru; (iii) gather and disseminate recommendations from different sectors, experts, and youth entrepreneurs on policies and programs that promote and support youth entrepreneurship; (iv) disseminate results, best practices, and lessons learned from research, the electronic showcase, and annual meeting Forum; and (v) strengthen and support existing youth entrepreneurship networks.
