Component 1: Strengthening of the Police. A) Improvement of Police Selection and Training Support will be given to increase the police's training and selection standards to respond to the change in the security model, which will be focused on prevention and police intelligence and investigation. B) Support to the Implementation of the CNECC. Support will be given to improve the selection and evaluation of the police, beginning with the implementation of a strategic plan that will allow the definition of actions to improve public confidence. Component 2: Diagnosis and Strategic Planning for the Rehabilitation Model of the Islas Marías Colony. Support will be given to the Federal Penitentiary System in the assessment of the penitentiary system and the strengthening of the Islas Marías Colony to improve the social reinsertion model for colonists. The Colony applies a true rehabilitation and social reinsertion model, that allows the offenders living in the island to work in productive activities and to live in homes with their families. Component 3: Support for the Strategic Planning of Comprehensive Violence Prevention Programs and Implementation of a Pilot Project. Support will be given to implement comprehensive prevention programs with community participation. Component 4: Implementation of a Monitoring and Evaluation System. Support will be given to the design and implementation of a monitoring and evaluation system to evaluate the implementation and impact of the Government's EIPDCD.
