Wayfi S.A. Last Mile Internet For Unattended Segments
Improve accessibility and bridge the digital divide, especially in rural areas in the Northern Triangle countries, by providing internet for low-income people and SMEs to boost economic recovery. The project seeks to improve accessibility to internet services and to close the digital divide, especially in rural areas in the countries of the Northern Triangle, by providing internet for low-income people and SMEs. The project will suppor the efforts of Wayfree - a company created in 2019 - and to bring internet to underserved areas or with limited access to this service to users in public areas with high aglomeration of people, such as main squares and municipal markets. Wayfree has developed an innovative business model that seeks to provide Internet connectivity massively and, in some cases, free (or almost free) of charge, to people and businesses through a wide network of transmission points, in areas where Internet operators do not provide services or do so poorly. An innovative feature of Wayfree's model is to make alliances to lower the costs of the infrastructure associated with bringing internet services to last mile users.
