DR-T1084 : Innovative Initiatives to Improve Education Quality

The project objective is to improve the quality of education received by children attending Dominicans Dominican public schools and generate knowledge for the country and the region on the effectiveness of strengthening academic programs and teaching English as a foreign language by the use of technology. This will be achieved through the implementation of two innovative initiatives, evaluation and dissemination of results: i) implement and evaluate the effectiveness of an academic reinforcement program to support school-risk students, and ii) implement and evaluate effectiveness of a program of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers who dispenses fluent in the language. The interventions will be evaluated based on their potential to improve learning for children and youth in language, mathematics and ILE and improve general education indicators such as absenteeism and promotion
