CO-T1293 : Support the Implementation of the Free Trade Agreements with Colombia

In recent years Colombia has been very actively involved in the negotiation and signing of various agreements, currently has 5 ACEs and FTAs and several APP. In this context, Colombia negotiated and signed an FTA with the U.S. Congress recently E.E. U.U. approved the FTA with Colombia, thus begins the implementation process, a requirement for its entry into force. The Government of Colombia has stated that this process of implementation is a priority in their management and the goal is to complete it this year. Colombia already has a network of trade agreements, so the challenge is also to advance policies and programs aimed at harnessing this new commercial network. At the same time, Colombia maintains an active trade agenda in highlighting the project to build the Pacific Alliance in Latin America and the assessments and monitoring the process of trade between countries in the region with Asian partners in the framework of the initiative trans Pacif Partnership (TPP). This project represents a continuation of KCP CO-T1214 and is complemented by activities in the area of ¿¿development of business opportunities, will be financed with the loan CO-L1094, currently in pipeline for approval in 2012.
