Developing Human Capital of Indigenous Peoples and Afro-descendants

Main Objective and relationship with previous MIF Technical Cooperation: The main objective of this KCP is to broaden access to higher education for indigenous peoples and Afro-descendants in Colombia through scaling up and transferring knowledge about the design and management of Human Capital Funds (HCF), an innovative and sustainable financing approach developed by Lumni Inc that has been recognized by Ashoka and described as one of the most important social entrepreneurship initiatives of this decade in the Americas . The development of this methodology was supported from the beginning by MIF through a technical cooperation that strengthened the institutional and managerial capacities of Lumni. Therefore this initial support created the necessary conditions to scale up this methodology and disseminate it among leading private and public sector actors in the region.
