Project to support the Quilombola Bioeconomy and the Georeferencing of Territories in the Legal Amazon

Quilombola territories play an important role in the conservation of biodiversity in the Amazon region. Quilombola communities in the Amazon are closely interconnected with the land and have a different understanding of the forest and biodiversity, having the territory as a true sanctuary of residence, so that these populations have a high power and influence over environmental preservation. Thus, the implementation of the proposal impacts visibility, the inclusion of communities on the map, georeferenced information, the qualification of the culturally appropriate bioeconomy theme and its impacts. Influence on the process of preparing the Bioeconomy plan, which aims to create strategies capable of boosting the sustainable development of quilombola communities in the Legal Amazon 1. Strengthening bioeconomy initiatives; 2. Improvement of CONAQ governance; 3. Recognition of TQs ACU/BID National Coordination of Quilombos Articulation –CONAQreconciling the standing forest and the search for Quilombola Good Living, sustainable development, recognizing and valuing traditional knowledge. Based on the relationship between quilombola communities and the forest and environmental diversity, which contributes to the conservation and preservation of biodiversity, as well as the search for the implementation of public policies that positively or negatively affect the conflicts and threats to which they are subject.
