BR-T1294 : Reinforcing the Quality of Professional Education in Public Secondary Schools

Contribute towards reinforcing the quality of 99 professional secondary schools (EEEPs) within the public educational system in the State of Ceará, in the northeast of Brazil, implementing Instituto Aliança¿s successful methodology that integrates the development of life and work skills into the school curriculum. This initiative will benefit 59,500 young people and train 400 teachers in two years. The Department of Education of the State of Ceará (SEDUC), has been a strategic partner for the last 8 years, and acknowledges that IA¿s professional training model for disadvantaged young people has succeeded in responding both to young people¿s expectations and the demands of an increasingly modern labor market. The project goal is to incorporate Instituto Aliança¿s (IA) professional technology as public policy in the educational system in Ceará, aiming at young people¿s socio-productive development in secondary schools, based on the successful experience of taking the Com.Domínio Digital (CDD) Program to senior secondary school students in the public system, initially as an extracurricular activity. This goal will be accomplished by adapting content and training 400 educators in IA¿s methodology, in order for them to be able to teach two subjects in the 99 professional secondary schools¿ (EEEPs) regular curricula in the State of Ceará. The focus is on facilitating and promoting activities that will help young people to build their life projects and prepare them for the modern world of work.
