Support the implementation of a new hospital management model
The objective of the TC is give technical support and qualified experience to the Bolivian Ministry of Health in the implementation of an innovative hospital management model inside the news hospitals built and equipped by the BO-L1067, BO-L1078 and BO-L1082 loans, focused on the patient, which will increase the efficiency of the health system, the healthcare quality and the equitable access to the hospital services. This objective is aligned with the 2010-2010 Institutional Strategy Update (AB-3008) of social inclusion and equality and with the IDB's strategy in the country by helping to close the social gaps. The managerial changes proposed in the hospital system will increase the accessibility to the healthcare services (planning more efficiently the healthcare resources, managing the available times of health workers and medical equipment, controlling the waiting lists of patients, etc.); this will allow, without greater resources, to increase the capacity of the hospital healthcare services and, therefore, reduce the current gap between offer and demand. The TC is also aligned with the CRF indicator of Social Inclusion and Equality and Institutional Capacity.
