Mexico’s former Secretary of the Treasury and Finance Angel Gurría will speak at the Inter-American Development Bank on Thursday, April 24, on the role of multilateral financial institutions and the challenges of strengthening the economies of Latin America and the Caribbean.
The talk, to be held at a luncheon on the 7th floor Américas dining room at the Bank’s Washington, D.C., headquarters from noon to 2 p.m., is part of the Forum of the Americas series that examines current development issues affecting the region.
Addressing the topic “How to Keep Multilateral Development Institutions Relevant,” Gurría will discuss challenges in dealing with a decline in capital inflows, slow growth, poverty, and the need for greater private sector activity.
