IDB Launches 2023 Call for Regional Projects in Latin America and the Caribbean

  • Users must register before May 8th, 2023.
  • Deadline for accepting proposals from registered users is May 22nd, 2023

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) launched the 2023 Call for Proposals for the Regional Public Goods (RPG) Initiative in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), which supports regional projects involving three or more countries.

The RPG Initiative provides non-reimbursable financing for solutions to shared development challenges through regional cooperation among at least three IDB borrowing member countries. Since 2005, the RPG Initiative has financed around $150 million for more than 200 projects.

The RPG Initiative will finance in 2023 regional coordination proposals aligned one or more of the following four (4) priority areas: (i) education and health to tackle poverty and inequality; (ii) food security, including access, production, and trade aspects; (iii) climate change mitigation and adaptation, and support to meeting Latin America and the Caribbean countries’ Paris Agreement goals; and (iv) regional integration in terms of sustainable physical and digital infrastructure to boost trade and productivity. Proposals that also involve a gender and diversity focus will be positively valued.

Information on the 2023 Call for Proposals can be accessed at the RPG Initiative website. All proposals must be presented in accordance with the Terms and Conditions applicable to the Call for Proposals and must be submitted via the online form before 05:00 pm (US Eastern Standard Time) on May 22nd, 2023. To be eligible to submit proposals within this deadline, interested parties must register at www.iadb.org/rpg before May 8th, 2023.
