Event in the city of São Paulo will be held from May 9th to 11th, promoting the dissemination of best global practices in accounting, tax and financial reporting and auditing.

The 11th CReCER Regional Conference on Transparency and Accountability for Regional Economic Growth will be held from May 9th to 11th, at the Hilton Morumbi Hotel, in São Paulo. The event will showcase the progress made in recent years in sustainability reporting and the use of technology for key government and service delivery functions. Global and regional experts will be present, including government officials, policy makers, representatives of the private sector and multilateral financial institutions, regulators, standard setters, governance professionals and scholars.

The event is jointly organized by the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the Global Public Policy Committee (GPPC) and the global forum of representatives of the six largest international accounting networks. This year's edition of CReCER is hosted and local partners are the Brazilian Federal Accounting Council (CFC), Ibracon – Institute of Independent Audit of Brazil and the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU). The event is held every two years on a rotating basis.

The main objective of this CReCER – Sustainability Reports and Use of Technology for Regional Economic Development – is to promote dialogue on two fronts: i) how high-quality financial and sustainability reports can support the sustainable development agenda both in public and private sectors; and ii) the use of technology to improve core government systems, including those for greater transparency and accountability.

The conference is a knowledge platform that facilitates dialogue, debate and dissemination of global best practices in accounting, tax and financial reporting and auditing. Its focus is on supporting economic policy-making and institutional strengthening in Latin America and in the Caribbean region.
