Argentina, IDB sign credit line for $360 million and loan for $120 million for a water and sanitation program

MIAMI - The Finance Minister of Argentina, Martin Lousteau, and the President of the Inter-American Development Bank, Luis Alberto Moreno, today signed a US$360 million conditional credit line for investment projects (CCLIP) and the first US$120 million loan under the CCLIP to support better water and sanitation in poor communities.

Financing will help Argentina’s National Water and Sanitation Agency to improve the quality of life in communities of up to 50,000 residents by providing sustainable coverage of water and sanitation services for some 310,000 households that currently lack such services. It will also help to strengthen the institutional capacity of national, provincial and local agencies in the sector, and the management capacity of service operators.

The CCLIPs allow for effective support and long-term continuity in key sectors for development.
