Are you a recent graduate eager to advance sustainable and equitable development?Do you have a giftfor creative analysis, and alongingto work with some of the top economists in Latin America and the Caribbean?

The Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is looking for talentedyoung professionals andrecent graduates for its 18-month ResearchAssistantProgram atthe organization\'sheadquarters in Washington, D.C.

Researchassistants helpresearchers with papers and presentations, compile and organize databases, perform econometric and statistical analysis, do project management, and often co-author publications with the department\'s staff. They are among the elite of their generation inambitionand skills and typically go on topursue doctorates at leading universities, including Harvard, MIT, Berkeley,and Columbia.

The researchassistantprogram is a way to get astrongboost ina competitive field. PhD graduates who have excelled in the job market often had research assistant experience before doing their doctorates. Alumni of the IDB program have gone on to eminent careers in government agencies and the top rungs of academia in Latin America, Europe,and the United States.

TheIDBResearch Department has a broad agenda,including research in microeconomic areas, like education, health, the environment, poverty and inequality; macroeconomics, banking and finance;and political economy and political science.

Successful candidatescan attend conferences and seminars withsome of the world\'s leading economists;take IDB courses, network and enjoy the vast social and cultural opportunities of one of the greatinternationalcapitals.

The program is open to candidates with an undergraduate degree in economics.Recent graduates of master\'s programs in economics, public policy or a related field are preferred, along with experience in applied research at a recognized university or researchcenter.

Applications must be received by March 31, 2021. Starting dates for successful candidates are between May 1, 2021 and September 15, 2021.
