Maria Rios

Maria is a seasoned audit and governance executive with more than 25 years of international leadership experience across audit, risk, operations, and strategic advisory roles at the IDB Group, Deloitte, and Arthur Andersen in Europe, the United States, and Latin America. As Acting Executive Auditor, she is responsible for delivering the Audit Strategy and three Risk-Based Audit Plans. She is recognized for providing independent, risk-based, and forward-looking assurance and advice to Boards and senior executives, as well as for driving the transformation of internal audit through talent development, innovation, and strategic partnerships. Her governance perspective is further strengthened by board-level contributions to international organizations and academic experience, combining practical oversight with strategic insight and sound judgment.
