David Hewitt is Canada’s Alternate Executive Director at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington.
Prior to joining the IDB in August 2023, David Hewitt oversaw the coordination of the Canadian Department of Finance's participation at the G7 and other multilateral fora. Previously, he worked as advisor to the Executive Director for Canada, Jordan, Morocco, and Tunisia at the at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. He has also worked on a number of economic and social issues at the Department of Finance, including infrastructure, agriculture and fisheries and priorities of Indigenous communities.
He holds a BA in Economics and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
