Expert on Italian Experiences for Building Opportunities for the Majority

The general objective of the TC is to Support the implementation of the IDB Initiative for the Base of the Pyramid by (i) identifying and documenting two specific case studies stemming from recent Italian experience in the six key areas identified by the President of the Bank; (ii) assess the main methodological isssues involved in the develoment of the base of the pyramid initiative, with particular reference to the finalcial sector; and (iii) identifying potential pilot projects and key Italian counterparts that could participate in the development of an "Innovation and Opportunity Network" in LAC. The specific objetives of the TC are: (i) producing a background paper outlining the link between the new IDB initiative and selected Italian experiences; (ii) identifying and developing two case studies in the financial sector area; (iii) developing a methodological annex discussing key issues and best approaches; and (iv) supporting specific initiatives to promote the new IDB vision vis-a-vis Italian institutions i nth epublic and private sector.
