Colombia and Peru
Silvio Rendon is the Alternate Executive Director for Colombia and Peru at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) since January 2022.
Before joining the IDB, he worked eight years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia (FRBP), as Principal Financial Economist. Therein, he was responsible for several regulation activities, such as bank exams and stress tests, as part of CCAR and DFAST. He was also responsible for model development for loss computation in the Supervision, Regulation and Credit area.
Prior to his work at the FRBP in 2014, Silvio held several academic positions, at Stony Brook University in New York, ITAM in Mexico City, University of Western Ontario in London, Canada, Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, and Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. Throughout his career he published several articles in refereed journals, mostly in the area of applied econometrics.
Silvio is an economist with an MPhil and PhD from New York University. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica of Peru.
