The objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to strengthen Venezuela's capacity to produce relevant, timely, reliable, and accessible statistical information that enables the design, monitoring, and evaluation of public policies. In particular, it aims to strengthen the National Institute of Statistics (INE) institutionally by conducting a comprehensive assessment of its organizational, methodological, human, and technological capacities, as well as the quality of its current statistical output, and by formulating a prioritized and costed Action Plan to guide the recovery and modernization of the Institute and the National Statistical System (SEN). The specific objectives are: (i) to establish an updated baseline for the INE; (ii) to evaluate the quality of the statistics produced by the Institute and determine which previously developed methodologies, instruments, frameworks, systems, and models can be revived or updated; and (iii) to formulate a short-, medium-, and long-term Action Plan, including planning for the next Population and Housing Census (CPV).
