UR-M1045 : Program to Support Women Entrepreneurs in Uruguay

In Uruguay female entrepreneurship is less developed than male, which impacts negatively in the competitiveness and dynamism of the Uruguayan economy. According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, male entrepreneurship activity doubles feminine (15% and 8,7% respectively). The aim of the project is to contribute to the creation and growth of new ventures led by women. To achieve the objectives, the project is expected to develop four components: 1. Strengthen and develop female entreprenership and management capabilities. 2. Promote the development and growth of dynamic female enterprises in a national context and international as well, through technical assistance, mentoring, advisory services and access to international networks. 3. Increase the number of female mentors that give support to female entrepreneurs. 4. Strengthen the female business image and female role model entrepreneurs in the country, as to encourage more women to start their own ventures.
