Program to implement Uruguay's National Public Security Plan (PNSP)

The overall development objective of the program is to contribute to reducing criminal violence related to organized crime in Uruguay by strengthening institutional capacities in public security and criminal justice. The specific development objectives are: (i) to increase inter-institutional strategic coordination and the prioritization of public security policy objectives; (ii) to increase police effectiveness in areas with high crime rates and in identifying perpetrators of homicides; and (iii) to increase the effectiveness of criminal investigations and prosecutions.
