Montevideo Urban Transportation Program

To improve, in a sustainable way, the accessibility conditions, mobility and safety of the urban transport system of Montevideo, to increase the urban competitiveness and integration of the metropolitan area and for improving the equity conditions and the life quality of the population. The program will help reduce private and social cost in the provision and use of the urban transport systems in Montevideo, through a more efficient transport system (less commuting time, more productivity, less operational cost and of maintenance, more safety and better environmental conditions) and equitable (integration of routes and more accessibility) that facilitate the access to the low income population to the zones that generate employment, income and services.
