Promoting Social Inclusion and Gender Equality in Track and Field for Secondary School Students in Trinidad and Tobago (TT)

The objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to support social inclusion by increasing access to high-quality sports program for students in public secondary schools in Trinidad and Tobago (TT), closing existing gaps in access by socioeconomic status, gender and disability condition. This will be achieved by implementing a pilot program of in-school Track and Field clubs with certified training coaches. Once these school clubs are created, they would promote social inclusion and serve as a launching pad for promising young athletes by providing skills development opportunities and increased prospects for pursuing an athletic career due to the early talent identification and training.
