Micro & Small Enterprises Development

This program introduces mechanisms to facilitate and promote the development of microenterprises and small businesses (MSBs), through three components: (a) regulatory and policy framework; (b) coordination and information-sharing among the public sector, the private sector, and international cooperation agencies; and (c) research and information. Component 1 funds two subcomponents: (a) development of an institutional and policy framework that facilitates the formalization and operation of MSBs; and (b) simplification of administrative procedures for formalizing MSBs. Component 3 funds three subcomponents: (a) evaluation and promotion of good business practices; (b) design of a system for monitoring MSB performance; and (c) facilitation and promotion of the development of an interactive information system for microentrepreneurs and small businessmen.
