Environmental Improvement Coal Mining Santa Catarina

The objective of the operation is to develop a feasible plan for the recuperation of approximately 4,700 hectares negatively affected by mining operations and bringing water quality in three major river basins into compliance with water quality standards in Santa Catarina. The eventual plan will build on the existing feasibility study for recuperating degraded mining areas, and will include an analysis of alternatives for strengthening the legal and institutional framework for environmental management of coal mining operations. The expected execution period for the operation is 12 months, with disbursements over 18 months.
