Human Res.dev.in Agric.sector: Mercosur
This Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) program seeks to improve the quality of human resources training in the MERCOSUR agriculturalsector and thereby hasten the modernization of agricultural productionbased on preservation and sustainability of the environment. Training willbe given to young agricultural technicians of the MERCOSUR membercountries who come from or intend to work on small farms in thesubregion. Training areas include: (a) establishment and/or management of micro- orsmall agroindustrial enterprises; (b) identification of market niches,especially for organic farm products; and (c) accessing of information onsuch subjects as technology, marketing and credit needed to expand asmall agricultural business (including information on technology,marketing, and credit). The components are: (a) a training course at theColégio Agrícola Cooper-Rural (CAC-R) in Jacareí, São Paulo, Brazil; (b)a training course at the School for Global Cooperation (SGC) of theOrganization for Industrial, Spiritual and Cultural Advancement -International (OISCA-I) in Japan; and (c) institutional strengthening of theCAC-R, the MERCOSUR Regional Center, and support activities fornearby communities.
