Microenterprises Network Expansion

The goal of this nonreimbursable technical cooperation (TC) is to increase the productivity and competitiveness of microenterprises and small manufacturers, in the machine tool, footwear and leather, garment and agriculture sectors promoting the organization of business networks and fostering production links between them. The three TC components are: (a) business networks; (b) technology and methodology transfer; and (c) development of local production systems. The first component involves the creation of new business networks through technical strengthening, aimed at ensuring the transfer of technology and strengthening the business association methodology. The second component provides the technical assistance for technology and methodology transfer through the training of personnel as "network promoters." The third component involves forming business networks within cities in order to facilitate regional economic development, based on local comparative advantages through access to supplies and markets.
