Public Transport System in Cuenca
To evaluate the benefits of the inclusion of urban transport among the areas that are eligible for financing under the PDM II. This TC provides technical advisory services, as a pilot case, to the municipal government of Cuenca to strengthen its public transit system, as a model for other municipalities in the country. This will include: fortification of the public sector oversight and monitoring role and strengthening of the private sector ownership and operation of the vehicles, with the goal of ensuring the long term sustainability of publicly regulated, privately owned transit systems.
