Strengthening of Enterprises Services Market
This nonreimbursable technical cooperation (TC) is a pilot program that seeks to enable microenterprise and small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSME's) in Nicaragua to compete more effectively in an increasingly global market. The components are: a) setting up a system of training coupons and technical assistance vouchers to spur demand for greater investment on an ongoing basis in nonfinancial services through partial incentives (the areas to be financed with the use of vouchers include business appraisals, production and technology innovation, market studies, standards of quality and compliance, financial management, preparation of financial proposals, and customized on-site training); b) improving supply of market services by establishing a mechanism to support and improve the quality of nonfinancial service providers; and c) promoting and disseminating information on the program to attempt to ensure equal access to coupons and vouchers.
