Pirai River Water Quality Mgmt Con.study
The objective of the proposed project is to provide the Prefectura of Santa Cruz with the technology and knowledge necessary for the analysis and management of the current and future contamination problems in the Rio Pirai basin, generating in this way the optimal conditions for planning approaches for minimizing contamination of the river. Specifically, the project will develop an overall pilot-scale mathematical model of the river basin, using existing data and data to be collected in the field, to depict the hydrology and water quality of the river basin. The model will enable the understanding of the existing situation, will be able to predict future conditions, and will allow for the evaluation of various scenarios for the control of pollution.
