Microfinance Policy & Regulatory Reform

The objectives of the program are (i) to identify the obstacles to legal supervisory and regulatory reforms for increasing the availability of credit to microentrepreneurs and small businesses, (ii) to examine what modifications to the regulatory framework may be necessary for the creation of specialized microfinance institutions; and (iii) to develop guidelines and recommendations for the amelioration of identified constraints and deficiencies.
