The purpose of the seminar/workshop is to bring together a group of regional and nonregional specialists for an in-depth discussion of theoretical and empirical aspects of various methodological alternatives, in order to perform evaluations of the economic impact of trade liberalization and integration. This seminar/workshop is expected to increase the analytical and empirical content of discussion of the effects of opening up to trade and the process of increasing globalization and interdependence to which the economies of Latin America and the Caribbean are increasingly dependent.
