Indigenous People Poverty Study

The objectives of the indigenous poverty assessment are: 1) to broaden the Bank's understanding of the underlying structural causes of poverty among indigenous peoples, 2) to review the poverty indicators that are being used to identify areas of poverty and/or target poverty reduction programs for the indigenous populations in regional member countries, 3) to develop more culturally sensitive country and regional strategies for the reduction of poverty among indigenous peoples, and 4) to disseminate the findings of the studies on the causes of poverty and measures to reduce it, as well as proposals for action among interested groups within the region.
