The overall objective of the project is to empower the hospitality-related private sector to manage and improve the composition and structure, delivery, and assessment of industry training. The specific objectives of the project are to: (i) develop the technical and organizational capability of the Hotel Training Council (HTC) to assume responsibility for hospitality and tourism training and certification for front-line workers; (ii) help bridge the gap that exists between the demand for specific specialized skills and the supply of high quality training in those skills; (iii) improve the capacity of the industry and the union to influence the development of an occupational competency standards system; and (iv) facilitate active participation of industry and the union in training provision and workforce development activities.
