Execution Electricity Sector Program
This project will help the government of Guyana start a program which will implement reforms in the energy sector with financial aid from the IDB. Technical Assistance will be provided in the following areas: 1) legal counseling before the financial closing and for the preparation of norms that are compatible with the new form that the Guyana Electricity Corporation (GEC) will take with the loans sectors; 2) formulation and execution of a program to fund the regulatory framework; 3) establishment of a regulatory and institutional framework applicable to the operations of the sector; 4) testing the legislation and procedures linked to the financial sector.
