By bringing together high-level representatives from diverse constituencies in the region (e.g., governmental officials, representatives of the private sector and civil society organizations, opinion leaders, and academic researchers), the SEF aims to build consensus and partnerships around poverty reduction and social equity enhancement goals and initiatives. The SEF will continue to carry out its work through expert meetings and a limited number of specially invited guests depending upon the theme of each meeting. Background materials (papers, issues notes, speeches, etc.) will be prepared and will be used to illuminate the topics being addressed by each meeting.
