Expansion New Microfinance Institution to Rural Areas
This project aims to establish a new microfinance institution in Ecuador through the financing of a US$1,500,000 loan and a US$ 250,000 technical cooperation.
The general objectives of the project are to:
a) increase access of microenterprises to formal financial markets, especially in the rural areas; and
b) increase market competition in the microfinance sector, thus promoting more discipline in the market place, better quality and more variaty of financial services.
