Microenterprise Recovery After Earthquake
Funding will be provided under operation MIF/AT-337, approved 12 June 2000 by Resolution MIF/DE-26/00. The general objective of the project is to establish a mechanism to guarantee the availability of contingency resources that are readily accessible for use in emergencies, to: (i) contribute to the recovery of microenterprises in areas affected by the earthquake, the tidal waves and their aftermath; and (ii) support private microfinance institutions, both regulated and unregulated (hereafter MFIs), in the affected zones by assuring them access to the liquidity needed to develop mitigation mechanisms to bolster their clients and their own financial and operational sustainability.
