Rural and Indigenous Women in Consolidation Democracy

The project is the second fase of a program geared to increase the participation of rural women in the process of democratic development. The second fase will build upon the lessons learned from the first fase of the program currently being implemented. An increase in the number of women in the election of 2003 is expected as well as an increase in the number of proposals elaborated by women's groups, in the number of women in decision making positions. The project will also continue supporting a group of women leaders to be more efficient and effective, strengthen their networks as well as that of local women's groups and organizations through strategic alliances at community and municipal level.
